Descriptions of the Mind - Body Therapy Modalities Offered:

Tapas Acupressure Technique
The Tapas Acupressure Technique is adapted from the practice of acupuncture. The electrical signals for emotional and physical illness are locked into the body in the form of cellular memory. This means that patterns can be passed on from one generation to the next (e.g. anxiety, depression, allergens).  To release the pattern, three specific acupoints are held while you focus attention on seven different aspects of the issue. For further information onTapas Acupressure Technique, refer to http://www.tat-intl.com.

Emotional Freedom Technique
The Emotional Freedom Technique is adapted from the practice of acupuncture. Emotional or physical trauma can be locked in the body along the meridian system. Each meridian holds an emotion and each meridian has a point that when stimulated corrects the disturbed energy patterns that might underlie the problem. You will be asked to recall a troublesome thought or feeling and are taught which traditional acupuncture points on your body to stimulate through tapping, rubbing or holding (rather than using needles). For further information on Emotional Freedom Technique, refer tohttp://www.EFTUniverse.com.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
The Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) method is based upon the hypothesis that negative life experiences or traumas upset the biochemical balance of the brain’s physical information processing system. This imbalance prevents the incident or trauma from being resolved. Instead, the incident or trauma is “frozen” in the nervous system in its original anxiety producing form, complete with theoriginal image, the emotions and thenegative beliefs about oneself. The EMDR methodology unblocks the brain’s processing sys¬≠tem, resulting in a diffusion of the traumatic imagery, a neutralizing of the negative emotions and a transformation of negative beliefs to neutral or positive beliefs. Further information can be found at http://www.emdr.com/.

Balancing The Subtle Energy System

More information about balancing the subtle energy system is described in our article What are Mind-Body Therapies?

Because of the complexity and subtleness of these various systems, it is more difficult to ascertain direct benefits. For information about Balancing the Subtle Energy System refer to: Gerber, R. (2001). Vibrational Medicine. Rochester, VT: Bear & Company; Brennan, B.A. (1987). Hands of Light. New York:Pleiades.

The Journey Process
The Journey Process is a technique that facilitates emotional and physical self-healing through the use of guided meditation. Healing occurs through a process that helps you to connect with your own infinite wisdom and a healing energy that is capable of resolving issues. For information about The Journey Process, refer to http://www.thejourney.com .

Brain Gym is a program of targeted physical movements that are designed to move information freely among the many nerve cells and functional centres of the brain. These movements allow individuals to access those parts of the brain that were previously inaccessible to them.
This results in whole-brain learning which makes all types of learning easier. See http://www.braingym.org/ for further information.
